A Madison company has developed a software tool aimed at helping women decide when and how often they should have a mammogram to check for breast cancer.
HealthDecision says its tool combines data from a patient’s electronic health records and medical history with guidelines physicians are supposed to follow to make recommendations about breast cancer screening.
The result is a personalized analysis of a patient’s risk of developing and dying of breast cancer in the next 10 years, the company says.
